Founded in 1998 by Ron Bertrand VK2DQ/4, the Radio and Electronics School is a non profit organisation run by a dedicated group of volunteers located in most states of Australia.

These volunteers offer their services as facilitators, and in administrative roles, so as to further the knowledge of Radio Amateurs, and increase awareness to this great hobby.

Kismet is an 802.11 layer2 wireless network detector, sniffer, and intrusion detection system. Kismet will work with any wireless card which supports raw monitoring (rfmon) mode, and can sniff 802.11b, 802.11a, and 802.11g traffic.

For developer, OpenWrt is the framework to build an application without having to build a complete firmware around it; for users this means the ability for full customization, to use the device in ways never envisioned.
